Arqana Horses In Training Sales Review Day 2

 

Horse Sale Review from Arqana in France with the main horses, buyers and sellers. 

 

Day 2 Horses 

 
  • The top lot of the Horses In Training session of the Arqana Sale was a four-year-old-gelding called Dell’Arca who is by Sholokhov. He was bought by Hubert Barbe on behalf of David Pipe for €280,000 from trainer Laurent Viel. He is out of five-time winner Daisy Belle who has also produced two other flat winners. 
  • Guy Petit bought a three-year-old Manduro colt called Baradari on behalf of Venetia Williams for €235,000 from the Aga Khan Studs. He is a winner and has been placed twice at Listed level and he is related to the Gr.1-placed Behkara.
  • They also teamed up to buy a Smadoun gelding called Marcilhac for €110,000 from trainer Marcel Rolland. He has won and placed over fences and is a full-brother to Cheyrac, a Listed winner and Marnhac who is Listed-placed. 
  • Tom Malone paid €175,000 for a three-year-old Monsun colt called Dispour, on behalf of Donald McCain. He has won and been placed from only three starts and is from a good family. He was sold by the Aga Khan Studs.
  • Trainer Alain Bonin bought a Doyen filly called Pianu, a recent Listed winner, on behalf of Jean Francois Vignion for €170,000. She is also the sister of Grandcamp who was a Gr.2 winner.
  • Willie Mullins was getting some quality stock for next year and he bought a number of horses on the day. Pierre Boulard’s PB Bloodstock was buying them on behalf of Willie and the top priced horse was a four-year-old gelding called Smashing for €130,000. He is by Smadoun and is already Listed placed over hurdles for trainer Mickael Seror.
  • The Aga Khan Studs sold them an Oasis Dream colt called Ashjar for €120,000 and they also bought a three-year-old filly by Network called Adriana Des Mottes for €100,000 from Patricia Butel.
  • Matt Coleman of Anthony Stroud Bloodstock bought a two-year-old Kheleyf filly called Cheg who won first time out and is out of the unraced mare Ansina, who is a half-sister to Asi Siempre, a Gr.1 winner.
