Day 2 Review

  • Norman Williamson’s Oak Tree Farm bought the top lot of the day for €44,000. John O’Byrne beat off a lot of interest to claim the 3yo son of Presenting. He is out of Peripheral Vision who is a winning Saddlers’ Hall mare and is from the same family as Gr. 1 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman.
  • Dessie Hughes bought a 3yo Old Vic gelding for €43,000. The Sadler’s Wells grandson is out of a Top Of The World mare who is a half-sister to Scarthy Lad, a Gr.2 winning hurdler and multiple Gr.3 winner Grangeclare Lark (who was trained by Hughes). Hughes also trained this gelding's full sister Grangeclare Gold who was Gr.3 placed and a 6 times winner.
  • A Kayf Tara gelding from Derrymore House was bought by John Snook for €43,000. He is out of Arsdtown who was a 4 time winner over fences. This gelding is also a half brother to the 3 time winner Kennel Bridge.
  • Tom Rudd paid €38,000 for a 3yo son of Assessor named Romassor from Galbertstown Stud and will probabley now go to France for Stephen Kemble. He is out of a Roi De Rome half sister to Tribal Venture, who was Gr.2 placed twice.
  • Sean Burke (with Gordon Elliott and Aidan O’Ryan) bought a son of Flemensfirth for €27,000. He is out of the dual winner Ballyguider Bridge and is from the family of Gr.1 Stayers Hurdle winner Rose Ravine.
  • Gerry Griffin and Nicky Richards paid €25,000 for a son of Presenting  from Ballincurrig House Stud. He is out of an Alphabatim mare and is from the family as Gr.1 winning novice hurdler Colonel Braxton and Bishops Hall who won a Kerry National. 
  • Lime Stud bought a Flemensfirth gelding from Ardrums House for €25,000 He is out of a Eluna who was a useful juvenile hurdler and is a half sister to Ebisu who was placed in a Gr.1 German flat race.
  • Brendan Bashford paid €25,000 for an Oscar gelding . He is out of a bumper winning daughter of Be My Native.
  • Tom Redmond bought a 4yo Presenting gelding from Moyhree Stud for €24,000. He is out of a half-sister to Here’s Johnny, who was runner-up in the Gr.1 Feltham Novices Chase.
  • Fran Flood paid a €24,000 for a 3yo son of Definite Article from Parkville Stud. He is a half-brother to 2 winners from the same family as black type winning jumpers Love And Porter, Paddy The Piper and Tell The Nipper.
  • Thomas O’Sullivan bought a son of Oscar for €16,000 from Windward House Stud. His dam is an unraced Glacial Storm half-sister to Be My Belle who won the Gr.2 Thyestes Chase and Rose Of Inchiquin who won the Gr.2 Lismullen Hurdle.
