Horse Sale Review from Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Horse Sale Day 2 with the main horses, buyers and sellers. 

 

  • The top lot of the Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale Day 2 was a son of Beneficial from Kelburn Park who was bought by Gerry Griffin for €50,000. He is a half brother to a winner and is related to Brackenfield and Gr.1 RSA Chase winner Cooldine. He will now be going into training with Nicky Richards. 
  • Palace Farm sold a son of Excellent Art who is a half-brother to Gr.3 winning hurdler Fingal Rock and is also related to the Stakes placed Cool Touch and Palace Star. Tom Malone got him for €40,000.
  • Tower View Stables bought a son of Robin Des Champs who is a half brother to a four time winner and is related to Gr.1 Champion Hurdle hero Kribensis. He was sold by Limekiln Stud for €40,000. 
  • Redbridge Stables sold a 3yo son of Stowaway who is out of an unraced Beneficial half sister to 4 winners. They sold him to Henry de Bromhead for €33,000.
  • Harold Kirk bought a son of Malinas called Prince D’Aubrelle for Willie Mullins. He is half brother to four winners and is related to Gr.1 Supreme Novices Hurdle runner-up Spirit Son. He was sold by Rathbarry Stud for €33,000.
  • Gordon Elliott paid €32,000 for a 3yo son of Kalanisi who is out of a mare who has produced 2 useful winners, Rising Time and Mr Warbucks, and is also related to Dawn Run. He was sold by Derek Pugh.
  • Brendan Murphy sold a son of Beneficial who is out of a placed full-sister to Gr.1 Novice Chase winner Nil Desperandum, to Gerry Hogan for €28,000.  
  • Gerry Hogan also bought a Mahler gelding related to Gr.3 winning chaser Aranleigh for €28,000.
  • Fossabeg Stud sold a 4yo son of One Cool Cat on behalf of Paul McNicholl to trainer Eugene O’Sullivan for €24,000. He is a half-brother to a pair of winning jumpers and he was bought for owner Tom Singleton.
  • Peter Bowen bought a son of Flemensfirth out of the Listed placed and 4 times winner Cresswell Native and is related to Gr.1 Kerry National runner-up Bideford Legend. He was sold by Joan Condron for €20,000.
  • Highflyer Bloodstock paid €20,000 to Parkville Stud for a 3yo son of Scorpion who is out of an unraced Accordion mare and is realted to Gr.2 winning chaser Woolcombe Folly.
