Newmarket July Flat Horse Sales Review Day 1

 

Horse Sale Review from Tattersalls in Newmarket with the main horses, buyers and sellers. 

 

Day 1 Horses 

 
  • The top lot of Day 1 went to the four-year-old Miblish who ran in the recent Coral-Eclipse. the son of Teofilo was sold for 250,000gns to Qatar based trainer Gassim Ghazali. Miblish had won twice from 16 starts for Clive Brittain including a Listed race at Kempton and was 5th in the Gr.1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot to Al Kazeem. His half-brother, Count John, was Gr.3 placed and other relations include Gr.2 winner Jewel In The Sand.
  • Agent Bobby O’Ryan and trainer Keith Dalgleish teamed up to buy Sven and Karina Hanson's four-year-old gelding Lover Man for 135,000gns. The son of Lawman has won twice recently over five furlongs included a Listed race at Maisons-Laffitte. The Ayr Gold Cup was mentioned as a possible target for him. 
  • Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock bought a son of Manduro called Duroble Man, from trainer Roger Varian for 130,000gns. He was bought for Alan King and will be aimed at the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham.
  • Darley sold a 14-year-old mare called First Of Many to BBA Ireland’s Michael Donohoe for 75,000gns. She is a daughter of Darshaan and is covered by Exceed And Excel. She has a Stakes winning daughter called Many Colours.
  • Alma Taylor of Red House Stud paid 57,000gns for Dozy, once favourite for Royal Ascot’s Queen Mary Stakes but got injured. She bought her from Jamie Railton of Tweenhills Stud and she in foal to Harbour Watch.
  • Tom and Ben Harris bought four-year-old filly Roxelana for 70,000gns from the Castlebridge Consignment. She is a winning daughter of Oasis Dream and is related to Listed winner Lovely Pass. She has been bought as a broodmare prospect.
  • Patricia Walsh of Anchorage Stud paid 74,000gns for four-year-old mare by Street Cry called Naruko from Darley. She has been covered by Exceed And Excel and is related to Listed winners. 
  • A three-year-old daughter of Danehill Dancer, Zain Queen was sold to Peter Kavanagh of Kildaragh Stud for 44,000gns. She is unraced but is but has lots of black type onher page including Listed winner and Gr.1 placed Rave Reviews, and Moth who was third in this years Gr.1 1,000 Guineas.
