Tattersalls August National Hunt Sale Day 3

• Another very quiet day at the Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale.

• There were 273 catalogued and only 78 (28%) were sold on day 3. The Average price was a very poor €1,600.

• Overall there were 874 catalogued and only 348 (39%) were sold. The Average price was €2,800 which was down 20% from last year.

Tattersalls August National Hunt Sale Day 2 Review

• From the 301 catalogued only 155 were sold. The average price was €6,177 which was down 11% on last year.

 
Day 2 Review

• Norman Williamson’s Oak Tree Farm bought the top lot of the day for €44,000. John O’Byrne beat off a lot of interest to claim the 3yo son of Presenting. He is out of Peripheral Vision who is a winning Saddlers’ Hall mare and is from the same family as Gr. 1 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman.

Tattersalls August National Hunt Sale Review

• A very poor showing on day 1 of Tattersalls August National Hunt Sale with more than half of those offered failing to sell.
• Out of the 300 horses catalogued, only 115 of them sold. 
• The Average was down 10% to €4,654 and the Median was down 14% to €3,000.

The Goresbridge N.H/Point-to-Point Sale 2011 was held yesterday and consisted of Point-to-Pointers, National Hunt and Flat horses in training and out of training.

• The top lot sold was a 3yo Milan gelding from Ballykenly Stud to D. Frisby for €9,200. He is out of the dam Russian Olive, who has 2 wins in Czech Republic and placed twice. He is from the family of Calico Lady who has 2 wins over hurdles and was Listed placed twice at Fairyhouse and Leopardstown.

- Overall the Average worked out at €31,586 and the Median was €22,000. There were 331 sold out of a possible 517 (64%) and 186 (36%) were not sold over the 2 days.

- Over the 2 days out of the 455 catalogued there were only 283 sold (62%) and 172 were not sold (38%).  
 
- Overall the average price worked out at €14,030.
